In November 2022, the public organization Ukrconsumerprotection and Greco Law Company signed an exclusive cooperation agreement that provides for full legal support of the interests of the public association, protection of the rights of its members and representation in courts. The agreement was signed by Stanislav Predko, Chairman of the NGO “Ukrconsumerprotection”, and Oleg Shchelkunov, partner of Greco Law Company.

According to the document, Greco Law Company becomes the exclusive legal partner of the NGO Ukrconsumerprotection. The parties agreed to jointly initiate processes to protect the interests of consumers, in particular, in the preparation of class actions.

Ukrconsumerprotection is confident that thanks to the support and legal assistance from the GRECO Law Company team, consumer protection in Ukraine will reach a new level,” said Stanislav Predko, Chairman of Ukrconsumerprotection.

In his turn, Oleg Shchelkunov, partner of GRECO Law Company, emphasized that this is a new stage for his company as well.

“Today, GRECO Law Company is the only law firm in Ukraine that has successful cases of consumer protection through the mechanism of class actions. It was GRECO Law Company’s team that implemented the first class action lawsuit in the history of Ukraine, which helped the residents of Vasylkiv, who suffered as a result of a fire at an oil storage facility in the village of Kriachky, Vasylkiv district, to receive monetary compensation for the damage.

So, of course, it’s a logical step for us to join forces with a proactive public organization that protects consumer rights,” emphasized Oleg Shchelkunov.

During the signing of the agreement, the parties also announced that a large class action lawsuit against one of the world’s largest companies would soon be announced. “I can’t disclose any details yet, but it will be a process that has never been done in Ukraine before. We communicate a lot with our colleagues abroad and want to bring the best experience in consumer protection to Ukraine,” said Oleg Shchelkunov.
